Elizabeth Allen is the Associate Director of Advancement for Alumni Relations at the American School in London.
Liz’s areas of expertise include combining real-world interaction with online social networking, working with educational institutions on communications strategy and goals, conducting focus groups and surveys, presenting findings to volunteers and staff, leading training workshops, and providing written reports and recommendations.
Liz has served on the faculty at several national conferences, and was the chair of the CASE Social Media and Community conference in April 2010. She has also delivered presentations to the California State University Alumni Council, the California Advancement Researchers Association, the Independent Writers of Southern California, and to private companies such as WhippleHill Communications and the Castle Press. Liz is a member of the Alumni Futures Advisory Group. She has been recognized by CASE as a “Stellar Speaker” and “Faculty Star.” Her writing has been published in CASE Currents magazine, and in a chapter she co-authored for Alumni Relations: A Newcomer’s Guide to Success. She has also been featured in several blogs, including a contributing role to edSocialMedia and the CASE Social Media Blog.
Her past work experience includes running her own independent educational communications consulting firm, directing communications strategy for the alumni association at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech); and directing communications at THINK Global School, an international Independent Boarding School. Elizabeth holds a bachelor’s degree from Scripps College in Claremont, California.
